Kate made her first public appearance at the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards on Sunday night. She had not been seen in public since her hospitalization for acute morning sickness on Dec. 6.
She only attend the evening-long event at London’s ExCel for about 45 minutes before returning home to Kensington Palace.
The Duchess is an official ambassador of Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic team. She stepped on stage to present the lifetime achievement award to Sebastian Coe, the newly elected chairman of the British Olympic Association and a two-time Olympic middle-distance champion, as well as the sports personality of the year award, won by Tour de France and Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins.
Kate wore a green, crepe wool Alexander McQueen ‘Bell-Sleeve Floor Length Gown’ (£2,520). The gorgeous floor length gown features bell-sleeves, a deep v-neck, a trompe l’oeil belt waistband, and a sweeping central thigh-high slit.
Finishing off her outfit, Kate wore her Asprey button pendant and her bespoke diamond and blue topaz earrings by Kiki McDonough.
