William, Kate & Prince George have arrived in Sydney, Australia.
The family were met on the tarmac by Tony Abbott, the prime minister. The welcoming party also included Sir Peter Cosgrove, the Governor General, and Marie Bashir, the Governor of New South Wales.
George was whisked off to the Governor General’s residence meanwhile the couple headed to Sydney Opera House for an official welcome ceremony hosted by the prime minister.
Thousands of people were waiting at the Opera House to greet the Duke and Duchess. The couple were cheered enthusiastically as they made their way into the building.
The Duke of Cambridge made a speech inside to 400 guests.
Outside the opera house, the couple went on a ten minute walkabout to meet cheering fans before setting off by boat across the harbor for Admiralty House, the governor general’s residence and where they will be staying the night.
Kate wore short-sleeved, form-fitting, color-block yellow dress by Serbian-born, London-based designer Roksanda Ilinic. Her choice of color is key as yellow is one of Australia’s national colors.
The frock is a bespoke version of a commercially available dress called ‘The Ryedale’ from the designer’s S/S 2014 collection and retails for $1,441.Modifications include, the neckline has been turned from round to square, sleeves reduced in size, and the color scheme was inverted as the original was white where Kate’s is yellow, and vice versa
Complementing her elegant dress, the Duchess wore her nude LK Bennett Sledge shoes, LK Bennett Natalie clutch, her Annoushka Pearl Drop earrings, her Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch and her Mappin and Webb necklace.
