At the Queen’s second garden party of the year, Kate made a surprise appearance. This was in celebration of Prince Phillips 93rd birthday.
It was the Duchess’ second engagement of the day. She was, originally, scheduled to attend the third party on Thursday, but Kate had a last minute schedule change her and, instead, attended today.
The Duchess of Cambridge made her way around and chatted to guests in the gardens. All members of the royal family in attendance made every effort to walk to different areas of the grounds so that they could speak to as many members of the public as possible, and later rejoined at the royal tea tent.
You may recall that the Duchess had previously worn the frock to the St Paul’s Jubilee church service in 2012. The only noticeable difference was that the ribbon belt had been removed.
Kate teamed her dress with a matching bespoke Jane Corbett hat, made especially for the occasion, a pair of new, nude patent pointed heels (not yet ID’ed), and her nude patent ‘Park Avenu’e clutch from Russell & Bromley.
In closing, we leave you with a picture of the Queen and Prince Phillip at the garden party today.
Thanks to a diligent follower on WKW, Kate’s shoes at the 2014 Buckingham Palace Garden Party have been ID’ed. They are one of their 5th Avenue styles (# is 235402) from 2013 and no longer available in the color that Duchess was wearing.
