As of this post, Kate is still suffering from acute morning sickness, and there has been no further word from the palace as to how she is doing. There are, however, a few updates that I wanted to share. Hopefully, that will fill the gap until the Duchess is feeling better and ready to resume her engagements.
A Slice of Cake
A slice of wedding cake from William and Kate wedding in a presentation tin presented to guests and dignitaries at their wedding on April 29, 2011 and inscribed will be offered for auction (Estimate: $1,000-$2,000) at Julien’s auction house in Beverley Hills, California, as part of a special sale that will see a collection of the late Lady Diana Spencer’s dresses go on sale as well.
The elaborate cake was a bespoke creation, covered in cream and white icing and decorated with 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers It was crafted by cake-maker Fiona Cairns and took her five weeks to complete.
The culinary masterpiece was displayed in the picture gallery on the day of their wedding.
Also under the hammer is a blank invitation to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding, printed on Queen Elizabeth II’s Buckingham Palace stationary.
