The Duchess of Cambridge looked incredible in a cotton, sky-blue dress from high street store Zara. The ‘Flocked Print Dress’ features an elasticated neckline so it can either be worn on or off the shoulder, navy floral appliqué details with a velvet effect are embroidered on the sleeves and front of the frock, and a waist-cinching, sash-style belt was tied around her torso.

As for her matching brown hat a-top her signature blow-dry, you may recognize it as the ‘Betty Boop’ from Lock and Company which she wore for a wedding in Switzerland and for St. Patrick’s Day in 2012.

William & Kate Enjoy the Beauty of Uluru

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge flew from Canberra on a three and a half hour flight to Uluru, touching down just after 1pm local time.

They were greeted by dignitaries including the Administrator of the Northern Territory, Sally Thomas, her husband Duncan McNeill, Northern Territory Chief Minister Adam Giles and his wife Tamara, and traditional owners Daisy Walkabout and Vincent Nipper who are from one of the most respected Aboriginal families in the local Anangu community.

The Anangu are the traditional owners of the land that includes Uluru. They jointly manage the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park with Australia’s federal parks agency. Aborigines have looked after the land for 10,000 years but only won back the title to it in 1985.

First on the agenda was a visit to the National Indigenous Training Academy which trains local people to work in the tourism industry. The  couple presented students with graduation certificates. Each of the 100 people who graduate each year are guaranteed work at the Ayers Rock Resort or other hotel complexes.

Kate chose a bespoke, taupe cap-sleeved, double-crepe dress by Roksanda Ilincic, with a pale grey belt. It features a ruched neckline and front detail. The frock is similar to the off-the-rack Roksanda Ilincic ‘Lovina’ dress.

We have seen Kate wear a similar Roksanda frock before – first on the royal tour in 2011 and then later at the UK’s Creative Industries Reception in July 2012.

Next, the Duke and Duchess visited Uluru itself. They walked up to it along one of the marked out routes for tourists that avoided the most sacred parts of the rock.

Kate made a quick change into her, previously seen 50s-inspired white and grey Hobbs ‘Check Wessex’ dress. She previously wore it to an event at Bacon’s College which she attended with both William and Harry in July 2012.

On a side note, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were photographed in almost the identical spot to the one chosen by Prince Charles and Princess Diana 31 years earlier – when William was roughly the age his son George is now.

It’s a rare occasion which sees the entire Royal family gathered around the table. Only twice a year does the Queen summon the entire extended Royal Family to the Palace.

This was a private event so there are no photos of Kate’s ensemble. My best guess on what she wore is her red, wool-crepe Alexander McQueen dress with a pleated skirt from the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant Flotilla.

The Duchess also wore her gold Catherine Zoraida double leaf earrings and styled her hair in its signature bouncy blow-dry with loose curls.

William & Kate Pledge Their Support for Injured Rugby Players

Yesterday, William & Kate pledged their support for the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust (WRCT) at a reception before the 5.15pm kick-off of the Wales V New Zealand rugby match. This was held at Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The charity is dedicated to helping people who have been seriously injured playing rugby.

The Welsh Red Dragons hosted the All Blacks of New Zealand. Unfortunately the attendance of the royal couple did not boost Wales fortune, with the home team losing to their rivals 33-10.

Kate chose red in support of Wales’ rugby team, the Red Dragons. She wore her belted LK Bennett ‘Ami’  coat which was seen in November last year when the couple visited UNICEF’s Emergency Supply Centre in Copenhagen.

The wool coat comes from LK Bennett’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection and features a high collar, epaulets, and a waist-clinching belt.

The Duchess of Cambridge teamed the look with a pair of black Aquatalia Rhumba boots and a red Gucci monogram canvas horsebit clutch w/chain Gucci (£1200 and no longer available) from the brand’s 1921 Collection (thanks to ‘My Small Obsessions’ on FB for the ID).

Completing her outfit, Kate wore her gold Catherine Zoraida Double Leaf earrings.

Also of note, Kate’s hair looks a little different. It seems she has trimmed her bangs.

The Royal Couple Attend an Informal State Dinner in Tuvalu

On the last night of their South Pacific tour, William and Kate attended an unusually informal ‘state dinner’ hosted by the island chiefs. The couple donned grass skirts and took part in a traditional welcome dance, known as Fatele.

Following the exertion William and Kate were then invited to sit on heart-shaped thrones and enjoy a celebratory meal of local delicacies. The menu included raw slices of paala fish, leg of pork, lobster and fresh clam, with pii, or fresh green coconut juice, to drink.

When Kate removed her skirt she revealed a floor length, flowing dress by Alice Temperley. The ‘Beatrice’ embroidered crepe maxi ($795 and sold out) creation looked like it could be a designer relic from the 60s or 70s. It featured gold buttons and embroidery on the sleeves, waist and center panel of the dress.

Description of the dress from the Net-a-porter website:

•Sheer sleeves, button-fastening keyhole, button-fastening placket, partially lined
•Concealed hook and zip fastening at back
•100% viscose; lining: 100% polyester

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a headpiece of flowers and her Catherine Zoraida earrings – double leaf earrings.

Kate & William Have Dinner Under the Stars

The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William attended a reception and dinner under the stars hosted by the Governor General at his private residence.

During the dinner the couple were entertained by musicians including a choir and the Haguelu Pan Pipers, who performed on a stage clad in grass skirts with white body paint and beads around their heads.

The Duchess made a last-minute wardrobe change after finding a strapless dress with a bright pink and orange batik design in her hotel room, a gift from the islands’ government. She had brought her own dress for the occasion, but, said an aide, “she tried it on, she loved it and she is wearing it”.

The material is hand dyed batik, a closer look reveals the motifs include flowers, fish, vines and other designs. The dress came from a shop called ‘Print’.

Completing her outfit, Kate accessorized with her Stuart Weitzman ‘Minx’ wedges, Red Sponge Coral Earrings by Serretta (£36 and available at myflashtrash.com) and her gold ‘Scale’ (£80 also available at myflashtrash.com) bracelet by Catherine Zoraida.
